This firmware update ensures compliance with the EU RED EN18031 standard by removing certain network functions.<br>Affected Features:<br>Image Upload: Sending images to image.canon will be disabled.<br>FTP Transfer &amp; Live Streaming: These functions will no longer be available after the update.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Important:<br>Please review the following information before proceeding with the update.<br>\u30fbOnce installed, this update cannot be reversed. If you use these features, do not update the firmware.<br>\u30fbThis change only affects cameras purchased in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).<br>\u30fbCameras purchased in other regions will retain these functions after updating; only the firmware version will change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the camera&#8217;s firmware is already Version 1.7.0, it is not necessary to update the firmware.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Firmware Download<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can download the latest firmware from your local Canon support website. The below links will take you to the correct page to download the firmware. Make sure that you download the correct firmware for your computer (Windows or Mac).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>USA:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usa.canon.com\/internet\/portal\/us\/home\/support\/details\/cameras\/eos-dslr-and-mirrorless-cameras\/mirrorless\/eos-rp?subtab=downloads-firmware\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\">Canon RP Firmware Download Page<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>UK:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canon.co.uk\/support\/consumer_products\/products\/cameras\/digital_slr\/eos-rp.html?type=firmware\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener\">Canon RP Firmware Download Page<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Install the Firmware<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Updating the firmware for the Canon R6 is a very straight forward and painless process, especially compared to Sony firmware installs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you download the firmware it will include a PDF guide on how to install the firmware, you can also download this guide <a href=\"https:\/\/rfshooters.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/docs\/canon-firmware-update-guide.pdf\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two methods described in this guide, I&#8217;d recommend using the card reader in your camera. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Previous Firmware Versions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Improvements from previous firmware versions are always included in the latest firmware version.
