Well I was hoping R1 was out within next 2 months but doesn't look like it so I cave in and bought R3. Hopefully I don't regret that when I see the R1 specs and price.- tpatana

Lens purchase
I mostly don't buy grey as the price difference is not enough. My 1DX was grey as it was ~$1500 less than Canon proper. Still running strong after some 300k clicks in 9 years. -
Planning for trip, what lenses?
Almost identical trip coming now, first Taiwan and then Japan for sakura. Last year ended up bringing: RF 16 RF 35 1.8 RF 24-240 RF 70-200 F2.8 Just bought RF 10-20mm, I'm considering do I bring all 5 lenses, or should I drop 16mm since most likely any wide items I'd shoot with the 10-20mm. On... -

OTOH there's the "wow this pic is amazing, your camera must be really good" -crowd. -

Been lazy recently, don't use my studio space too often. But sometimes when they call me, have to get my setup back up. She'll be competing at the Mrs Universe competition later this year in Korea.- tpatana

Travel Three Views of Mt. Fuji

I don't think the R1 has global shutter though. The rumor says the readout speed is so fast they don't need that, also they don't need even (mechanical) shutter. So if that is true, only shutter-mode on R1 will be e-Shutter.- tpatana

I'm thinking the other way, as in what R1 can bring to the table so that people don't get R3 instead. The price difference will be ballpark $2k, so basically they need to give something worth $2k over R3. For lot of people probably better option is R3 and use $2k for lens.- tpatana

Yea wildlife for sure has different needs. There's supposed to be coming also high-MPix bodies, maybe R5-variant / R5-2 or R3-2 that could work better for wildlife.- tpatana

Anyone have a personal favourite shot from 23?
My favorite was taken by my assistant so that makes me sad :( Maybe I should retire. Great photo for sure. Men's individual final match at Kendo US Nationals. He scores point with quite rare technique too. -
