Should I wait for a third party R6 grip? What justification is their for the $100 price difference between the R and R6 grips?

If there was a 3rd party grip, it would of came out already. We're 8+ months and nothing yet. Typically these 3rd party companies have them out within months of the cameras release.

The R5 and R6 are selling like hot cakes which make it strange that no one has attempted a grip yet. The Canon one is really expensive! I would love to get one, but it is better for me to put toward a lens in stead!

They will come eventually. The aftermarket grips for the original R just came to market a few months ago after the camera had been on the market since Oct of 2018.

So what it comes down to is do you want/need a grip now or are you willing to wait another year?

On the bright size, the R5 and R6 both use the same grip. Pretty sure that is a first for Canon.
