Heh. Yea, SharpenAI/DenoiseAI is great for images with separated in-focus and out-of-focus areas. I use DeNoise with a bit of sharpening for focus-stacked images and it works great. But Topaz struggles with transitions from focus to out-of-focus and the result often looks very unnatural.
