After dark, or close to it anyway Kathryn. Just a single 30w LED which is fairly powerful but the Badger has a choice of entering the light and is happy to do. You need to use the anti-flicker to stop light banding on the image.

Very interesting! You have captured amazing shots of him! Is your LED a Lume cube or similar?
 
Forgive me, I thought it was a flash image of a taxidermied badger at first. Great capture!
