How the heck did you get so close to those kestrels? If I look at one funny from a 100 yards away it is gone in a flash. Are they so young that they don't know better?

Yes, we find they are very shy too. We got this close because they are young and waiting for their parents to return and feed them. They were a bit nervous with us photographing them. We have seen one fly to a nearby tree and back but we haven’t seen the other one fly yet. Kestrels aren’t that common here so we were very happy to see them.
