But now you have caught me out in my fakery 😂
Not fakery but art. JMHO I am interested though as to what created that little reflected arc of light on the top left of the front fender. When I look at the angle of the sun rays you added, it does not look like they could have created this one reflection. What is even more interesting is that these little artifacts add mystery to the "art". Kind of fun trying to figure things out.

Sorry about the delay in replying but I've not logged in for a few days. Yeh, the lighting will be a huge mystery. It's a composite of several images lit from different positions. I used a 7-foot umbrella on a boom and try to create a suite of images where the reflection highlights are in different locations in each shot. I then layer them in Photoshop and mask out the highlights as necessary to get a smoothly lit image. It does lead to some very confusing shadows. I've not used the method on a car before and don't particularly like it. I usually reserve this technique for motorbikes where I only light from the front and back. Works like a charm on them.

I'm getting into light painting so the techniques are similar to compositing and blending in Photoshop. I like the image (and the vehicle). Just trying to see how things are created. (y)
