There is a group of 2 dozen or so sea otters in Morro Bay. There is a kelp bed on the side of the channel near Morro Rock and the mouth of the bay. The sea otters wrap themselves in the kelp to avoid drifting when thye are sleeping. They also appear to sleep in pairs.
