The R50 is a fine entry level/beginner/casual stills camera. It is not a pro level camera, but would be fine for hiking, street, family photos, etc. One of the pros and cons would be the physical camera size. It is a small camera, and that works both ways. It fits in a bag really well, but those of us with big hands will have to learn how to adjust. I have fairly large hands, and after using it for a while, I got used to it, no problems. Because it is a small camera, there are a limited set of dials, knobs and switches on the outside of the camera, as opposed to a larger pro model that has all the controls at your fingertips. This means that you have to go into the touchscreen menus to set what you want for some things. That would mean more to a pro sports/wildlife shooter than somebody like me that moves at a more leisurely pace. All in all, I am very satisfied with the image quality I get out of the camera, and enjoy using it. You can find all of the specs on the internet if you want them, but I just wanted to give my impressions.
