Correction: these are common house martins...not swallows. My confusion arose from the Japanese generic term for these types of birds, "tsubame."
It'sswallow house martin (boy, these birds are fast) season and I happened to come across a good place to capture them taking sips out of the river. Here's my first try at this spot...hope to add to this thread.
I forgot to take off the extender (lots of noisy photos I tossed, and they were just too close and fast for the minimum focal length w/extender).
