I rented an R5 for the weekend and took a few shots of nesting woodpeckers. I definitely notice the increased dynamic range over the 5d IV because they are in the shadows and I had very little post-work to do to bring out the shadows. I was using the 100-400 II lens with a 1.4 extender. I decided to purchase the R5 and will be receiving it soon. I really had trouble autofocusing, but have watched multiple youtube videos and am certain that it was an operator error. I am anxious to try the various focusing options!

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
