Rumors R6 III already?

I love my R6II. It's an amazing camera and has all the features that I need and want. I'll reserve final judgement until the official specs and real-world tests are out, but I can't imagine what Canon would put into the R6III that would make me upgrade from the R6II.

I upgraded from the original R6 pretty much for the unlimited video record time. That was the one feature that the R6 didn't have that I really wanted. And I'm perfectly happy with the 24mp sensor. I wouldn't want to trade a higher mp for worse low light capability.

They'd have to come up with something really unique or interesting for me to spend the money on upgrading to the mk III.

I agree. I’m perfectly happy and actually feel like I don’t even touch half the features in the Mark II as it is. No need for more megapixels either. AF is what really gets me going, but the Mark II is pretty tough to beat.

I'll definitely skip Mark 3. I'm holding out for the R7II if it ever comes.

I wonder if the R6 Mk III rumors aren't premature. You're right the spec's aren't compelling for an upgrade. They never are.

From a product standpoint (imo), there needs to a "linger time" to capitalize on the sales of the latest model. Too soon a release and Canon may have lost sales over a longer term prediction.

Well 10 months later and it's interesting how things change. For about 1 year I shot with my R7 and 100-500 only and my R6II, 100-500 and 1.4 TC. Ed's jet shots inspired me to sell the R7. Not that I couldn't get excellent shots with it. I just enjoyed using the R6II more. Who knows. Depending on what the R7II has to offer I may suffer a little GAS.

This is from 9 days ago. Speculation the R6III would be announced at the end of June however Jan says in the 4th quarter. Minute 8:05. If it will indeed be a 30mp sensor I'm sold. If 30mp stacked I'll buy it in a heartbeat.

Not stellar but with my old 5D4 and a very quick edit. The R had the 5D4 sensor and I really liked it. There were days I was sorry I sold my R.

I think Canon is in wait and see mode for the R6 mkIII with regards to the tariff situation.

They know it's likely to be their best selling camera, like the R6 mkII is currently. But if the tariff prices put it too much above the $2,500 price point its going to eat into their sales unless they can upgrade enough features to make it a worthwhile upgrade.

Seems to be some hype about it’s release soon. Jan Wegener has a video out. Apparently no stacked sensor but 30-32mp size.

I'll definitely skip Mark 3. I'm holding out for the R7II if it ever comes.

Same here, looking to add an APS-C and if the R7 Mk II spec is close to accurate I'm going to grab one.

And I love my R6Mk II, no reason to upgrade give the rumored spec.

I really liked my R so it it’s 30mp I’ll get it. I really like that Canon has dumped the Switching Tracked Subjects menu and the direction it is taking with the case numbers. This is based on the R5II and the R1. The advanced AF is very appealing as well.

I’ll have a series look at R7II. I’ll have to hold it myself and fire off some shots before I spend money on it.

If I get both that will be it. I’ll never need to upgrade again. ;)

Adobe added RAW support to the R5II and R1 six weeks before they were released. Hopefully the same will happen with the R6III and R7II.

While I'd like 30 megapixels, I don't feel like 24 is truly holding me back. The more advanced AF? I'm alllllll about that.

I don't know how legit this site is. I have heard about the advanced AF from other sources. Don't know if this is just speculation built up on the current R6II or actual. It's exciting either way. First 3 minutes.

Jan Wegener has a recent video. Predicts announced by Sept 15. Release usually comes after. For any Adobe users LrC/ACR had RAW support for the R3 on the day of release. 6 weeks before the R1 and R5II were released. I was able to mess around with the R5II before it was shipped. Hopefully we get lucky whittle R6III.

Rumor is it uses the R5II battery, which is a total deal breaker for me. I've got 5 R6II batteries and those dang things aren't cheap!

Called my local dealer this morning and told him to put me on the list. It does not mean I have to take it as there will always be another to take my place but I'l have first crack at it. I've been thinking about this and I have been without my R7 for six months and I'm not really missing it. We'll see.

As for the batteries. I worked with 3. An extra free battery came with the R7 which I kept when I sold my R7. I would use the R7 or R6II batteries as needed. Now I only have two but never paid for the second one.
