While in Samoa in October I took a taxi ride across the island in search of birds. The roads were nightmarishly steep and twisting as we ascended the mountain. We stopped a turn off and you could see dozens of White-tailed Tropicbirds going in and out of their nest sits in the cliffs.
I was following this bird when it banked towards me for a little different shot. This is a 100% crop as the birds were generally very far off. The first time I saw White-tailed Tropicbird’s was on the island of Kuai Hawaii at a nature preserver on the Northeastern tip of the island. It’s a treat to see these birds.
They can be found in the Western Pacific in the Equatorial region to the East Coast of Africa, and in the Caribbean an up the Eastern Seaboard, but seeing them if a rare sighing unless they are nesting.
