Wasn't sure where to put this post but I did have to travel 40 miles to another part of town and the pictures were taken on the street so here is where I am landing! Some local car clubs do a Coffee & Cars car show, I think these are done in other towns and cities, this one was in The Woodlands, Texas. It was a gorgeous fall day, 58 degrees and a clear blue sky which makes for perfect reflections on the ever so perfect paint jobs these cars have.

I shot mostly with my Canon R but also with my new R7. Lenses for today were the RF 24-105mm and the little RF16mm. Here are a few of the ones I edited in Lightroom a little while ago.

Really nice images Chris, just looked through the metadata and the RF 24-105 lens appears to have performed brilliantly for you , I take it you were in manual mode as well looking how the iso, shutter speed and aperture changed quite a lot in the images I looked at.

Actually I was in FV which is sort of like Manual with options; I kind of like that mode. I know for a few shots I chose a smaller f stop for increased DOF.

Thanks for the response Chris , I had forgot about FV mode, maybe I need to revisit the mode as your images shows it works if used correctly, I now use AP or TV mode most of the time unless im using flash.

The thing I like about FV is that it's like Manual Lite or Manual Quick if that makes sense. It can quickly be changed to where one or more of the 3 main parameters of exposure is automatic or chosen by the user. About the only time I go to full on Manual is for in studio flash, macro or astrophotography. Scary but our cameras are getting better at figuring out the best exposure to the point we only have to tweak it a bit.

Lovely shots Chris! A lot of work has gone into those motors. My car will never be that shiny!

Really nice set of photos Chris. Car show on a nice day is time very well spent. Thanks for sharing.

These are nice images. Many places will have Cars and Coffee events and they are really great to see a lot of unique cars and meet a lot of really nice people.

As an aspiring automotive photographer, I visit these events frequently here in South Carolina among many others. The ones here are on a monthly schedule each Saturday throughout the year. I would imagine it’s similar in Texas due to the warmer weather there.

Great set of photos, Chris! The season for car shows is ending here, will have to try to get to one next spring.
