    About a possible next buy…

I keep hearing that there are incompatibilities with the R6 line and the Sigma 150-600. Have these been sorted out with a firmware update to the lens?

    People 1800s Native Americans

The Seminoles were originally part of the Creek Confederacy prior to the Removal. Once European settlers started moving in, some of them split off and went south into Florida. Others went west with the Creek Nation and settled in Oklahoma to form the Seminole Nation. The Federal government...

Canon R5 II Canon Advisory when using SanDisk SD Cards

Sounds like this only applies to Sand Disk cards used in the R5 mkII? I use the SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-II V60 and V90 in my R6 mkII and my RP, and my Black Magic PCC4K and my DJI Drone (micro SD). Haven't had any problems. Seems like it's the camera then. Canon needs to get their firmware in...

    People 1800s Native Americans

Cool pics, but they don't look like they are from the 1800's. I guess being in Florida, they're supposed to be Seminole?

Full Frame Should i get the 24-105 F4L?

No, you should get the 24-70mm f2.8. And then get a 70-200mm f/2.8 for more reach. The 24-105 f/4 is an okay lens, and despite the L rating and red ring it doesn't really have the same optical quality as the 2.8s. The 24-105 f2.8 Z is $3,000. Watch the Canon Refurb site and you can get the...

What caused this jagged effect in wing movement?

Is that Tamron 150-600mm actually working for you on the R6mkII? I though there were supposed to be some auto focus incompatibilities with that lens on the R6 line. I wonder if it's an artifact of the focus motors trying to focus on the super fast moving wings, and then it got extrapolated into...

What caused this jagged effect in wing movement?

Interesting. What were your ISO and shutter speed settings? Was this all manual or an automatic mode? I’ve seen some weird sensor lag issues with some long exposures of night sky shots, where there were triangular artifacts from what was probably a satellite or meteor.

What Photography Related Item Have You Bought or Sold This Week?

I just bought myself an RF 100-500 also. This is the 2nd to last of the RF lenses that I have been wanting. The only one left is the 85 f/1.2. Going to be a while before I can afford that one.

Canon R100 R100 second lens for new user

I prefer the 35mm f/1.8 over the 50mm. But maybe you want something with a little more reach. The 85mm f/2 would be a good option also. Or maybe trade in the variable aperture RF-S 18-45 for the Sigma RF 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN?

Full Frame Best lens choice for my scenario?

Where are you going on vacation? And why type of photography do you do most? Going to see the Grand Canyon, is a bit different than going to a big metro city and seeing museums and landmarks, etc... All reports are that the 28-70mm f/2.8 is a great lens and should be a great walking around lens...

Canon R8 Canon R8 Rolling Shutter

This is why I still use the mechanical shutter on my R6 mkII, unless I'm in a really quiet environment.

November 2024 Competition - After Dark / Night Photography

The Northern Lights, taken from my backyard in southern Mayes, Country Oklahoma on October 10, 2024. With my Canon EOS R6 mkII and Laowa Argus FF 35mm f/0.95 lens. Since this is a fully manual lens it doesn't comes up on the meta data. But I was shooting wide open at f/0.95.

Full Frame  Anyone use the 28-70 f/2.8 IS STM lens yet?

Has anyone here bought or used the RF 28-70mm f/2.8 IS STM lens yet? How are the optics and auto focus? Good color rendition? Thinking about thinking one up for my RP, winch I think would be a good secondary set up to my R6 mkII with the 24-70mm f/2.8

Full Frame  Can someone explain the RF 28 f2.8 lens to me?

What’s the appeal of this lens? Other than its super tiny form factor? Is there some special look you get from one of these types of lenses that you don’t get from the 24mm f1.8? The 24 has a faster aperture and image stabilization, why not just get it instead of the 28? And other than the...

Full-Frame Canon RF 28-70mm F2L USM Image Thread

Do you guys find the lack of image stabilization in this lens wanting? I love my RF 24-70mm f/2.8. And I really like having the image stabilization on it.

What was I thinking? Memo to self.

Huh? Are you saying that you can record an audio file that gets assigned to the specific picture? Like it record from the cameras internal mic and keeps it with that photo? I’ve never even heard of that feature before. Now I want it on my R6 mkII also.

    Bahtinov Mask

Interested in this as well. I've read about them, don't fully understand how to use them or when.

    Rumors R6 III already?

I love my R6II. It's an amazing camera and has all the features that I need and want. I'll reserve final judgement until the official specs and real-world tests are out, but I can't imagine what Canon would put into the R6III that would make me upgrade from the R6II. I upgraded from the...

    Full Frame 24-105 f/4 vs 24-70 f/2.8

If he's going to actually study photography, as in a real job in photography the RF 24-70 f/2.8 is pretty much the basic starter professional lens that he needs. He'll add other more specialized lens as his needs and interests grow. The first lens definitely won't be the last. But I own both...
