Not so easily unfortunately.

I have to lock it unfortunately Phil to stop any additional entries coming in after the closing date. I suppose I could unlock it again once the votes are in and results are announced. I've give that a go this month. Please remind me if I forget! :)

Good question. I think I'd say technically no as it's more brown than black and white. It might also impact the votes you receive, probably more negatively. If you could post another b&w image that would be appreciated.

Actually there is no date restriction for this competition. I made the mistake of copying that part from my other forum where we restrict entries to the current and previous two months. The problem I'm finding there is that people don't read the instructions and a lot of images are not submitted...
