Canon R6 III Recommended Memory Cards for the R6 Mark III

Not unless the cameras have PCIe Gen 4 hardware built-in already but have been restricted to run at PCIe Gen 3 speeds, then a firmware update could enable the faster speeds. But I expect we will never see a camera that maxes out the write speeds of either a 2.0 or 4.0 card due to the heat it...

Canon R6 III  Recommended Memory Cards for the R6 Mark III

I've just finished testing 50 memory cards in the R6 III, 23 CFexpress Type B and 27 UHS-II SD cards. The R6 III isn't writing to the CFexpress slot much faster than 520 MB/s. So because the vast majority of CFexpress Type B cards can sustain this speed and more, they mostly perform the same...

Canon R5 II R5 MKII & Sandisk CF Express Cards

I've not tested any cards in the R5II yet, but in the R5 the SanDisk Extreme Pro CFexpress 2.0 Type B works just fine. Like you say, the R5II can't benefit from the faster 4.0 cards right now, it can't even take advantage of the fastest 2.0 cards. There are some known issues with SanDisks...

Angelbird AV Pro Mk 2 V90 UHS-II - Very Poor Write Speeds in Canon R Series

I was just wondering if anyone here is using the Angelbird AV Pro Mk 2 V90 UHS-II memory card in any of the R Series bodies? If you are, how quickly do they clear a full buffer of RAW + JPEG L images when shooting in Hi+ ? I've tested three of these cards (two 64GB and one 128GB), all...

    Forum Software Update 2.3.4

There is actually a button but it's a bit temperamental on mobile. I'll ask the theme developer if they ever plan to get it working properly. Dean's suggestion is a good one for Windows. On Mac it's "Command + Up".

Canon R6 III  Canon R6 III Firmware Update Version 1.0.1 - CFexpress Formatting Issues

That was quick. The R6 III already has a new firmware version: 1.0.1. It addresses some instances where CFexpress cards can not be formatted in-camera. Download here: https://www.canon-europe.com/support/consumer/products/cameras/eos-r/eos-r6-mark-iii.html?type=firmware Has anyone with the...

News Firmware Update for EOS R5

Thanks Lou! Sometimes when you click on the file on Mac it mounts a drive on your Desktop or in Finder, it's easy to miss and think it hasn't done anything.
