Very neat. Wonder why it was abandoned?

Thanks. I think it became more feasible to run a bus along the route. The railway line, Taguchi Railway, which later merged with Toyohashi Railway, was discontinued in 1968. That platform in the picture was the Mikawa-Okusa Station (opened in 1930). I believe the the line served a dual purpose of shipping timber as well as a passenger train.

Always interesting seeing these old abandoned sites & envisioning how they might have looked in their hey-day.
