If you’re using Photoshop or Lightroom, do believe Adobe’s latest “assurances” regarding the T&C? Are the editing features worth the risk, and will you be keeping your subscription?

I’ve always thought that storing my work on systems owned by someone else was a bad idea, and as a former IT pro who administered Adobe cloud accounts, I don’t trust any of the big AI players. (As a Luminar Neo user, I’ll be reviewing their terms as well.)

I don't use the cloud anywhere full stop. I will keep using PS / LR for the moment until luminar catches up with batch processing speed etc. as soon as it does (the wife uses it so I can keep an eye on things) adobe will be kicked out. It's bad enough having to pay subscription but that's another rant altogether ;-)

I have not installed Lr since going subscription in 2018. I've never had any interest in cloud storage. I have always thought that some day LrC would be phased out whit Lr being the pay option.

Lots of talk over the last 8 years about forced cloud usage. Adobe surprised everyone with Lr v7. It now offers both local and cloud strange options which is actually has some appeal to me. Lr would have to be as robust as LrC for me to take any interest in it and I that is a ways off.

Since Adobe has gone subscription there has been a lot of bad things that would happen that never come to be. I have found it's mostly much ado about nothing, but that is just me. I have full respect for those who dislike Adobe and/or subscription.

Have you seen the YouTube video Tony Northrup released a four days ago? Adobes clarification only makes it worst!

Yeah they needed some advertising hits so they can go out for a steak dinner this weekend. Ever since they ran down the R5's AF because they had some antique lens on it I wouldn't let them put air in my tires. :)

Since that video there have been multiple links stating Adobe only uses stock images for training. They will do another announcement to clarify this. On the Adobe account and PS there are options to not allow use of your files for training. If they scan for illegal porn fine by me. I don't use the cloud but if I did I wouldn't be worried.

I trust this site which is not affiliated with Adobe but that is just me.

They can have any of my stuff they want. Don't care. I'd love to do an AI Generated pic and have it come back as based on one of my shots.

I might be taking this too lightly but I have not given permission to Adobe to use my files but I have nothing in the cloud anyway. If I did I have nothing to hide. I guess because it's Adobe who some just have a real dislike for which I understand and respect. I have companies I dislike. What I find interesting is I know my government is scanning my emails, texts, sites I visit, etc. So do other countries and there seems to be less concern than Adobe looking at someone's files. It's just an opinion which does not mean I'm right.

At least Adobe is upfront about it. I do believe them when they say they only use stock images. It’s not worth the lawsuits if they don’t. That’s way better than any of the other AI apps that have been swiping images off the web left and right with no care about privacy or ownership to train their tools they aren’t at all apologetic about it and have no plans to stop from what I read.
