Omega Warrington is a logistics park full of warehouses and wagons for the big retailers, sitting beside the M62 motorway. It was built on the site of the old Burtonwood air force base, an American base dating back to WW2.

The base was opened in 1940 as an RAF base, then transferred to the US Air Forces in 1942. It was used to service and repair over 11,000 aircraft and 40,000 engines, and at the height of the war, over 18,000 US personnel were based there. It was used to support the Berlin airlift after the war, and remained partly open as a US Army supply base until 1993, including storing equipment and vehicles which were used in operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield.

After closure, the base stood derelict until work began in 2012 to create Omega logistics park, an 800 acre site of warehousing for all the major retailers, both bricks and mortar and online. The Bolt Of Lighting statue was installed in 2025 on the main road in and out of the site, and is visible from the motorway. The statue stands almost 75 feet high, and was erected as a permamnent tribute to the heritage of the site, specifically the 1003 Lockheed P-38 Lightning bombers which passed through the site during the war.
