Is it possible to connect the camera directly to my MAC using a USBC cable and download pictures/videos from the SD express card rather than take the card out and use a card adapter ?

You can download photos via USB cable to your PC or Mac...OR wirelessly through the CanonConnect app (one of my personal favorites).

I have found that I needed to use the USB-C to USB cable for mine even though I have a C-type in my PC. This means that the cable that came along with the camera was useless for me. I had to buy another cable. Don't let that intimidate you.

Now, connecting to the CanonConnect app is even easier than it was with my 5D Mark IV. I use the app as both a remote trigger and to download photos to my phone or iPad. I can use Lightroom Classic from my phone (when I'm in a hurry to post photos after a shoot). I LOVE this app!
