Nokishita has leaked the first image of the Canon EOS R3. Apparently Canon is planning to make a development announcement soon. Strange that they went with R3 and not R1, unless they want to leave the R1 model number free for an even higher spec'd camera in the future.

A sizable body considering the diameter of the RF24-70/2.8L. Still the best designed cameras on the market.

Looks cool, I'm sure it will be astronomical in price. It will be interesting to see the specs. I wonder if they went R3 to reduce confusion with the EOS-1DX

75 MP with the shooting for 100 MP with the R1 I hope this doesnt become an overrated feature ... my camera is " capable " of 8k but will over heat according to the information I've read so to me its a very over rated spec ... does fabulous for photos with all the new stuff inside

Well, to me the lure of mirrorless was 1 the animal eye AF tracking and 2 the smaller lighter weight gear. This does not look smaller or lighter.

well it would seem they're positioning this one between the R5 and the 1dx

When this news dropped... My jaw hit the floor! I’m an automotive freelance photographer and shoot NHRA Drag Racing Events. I would love to get my hands on this new R3 and test it out and comparing it to the 1Dx Mii.
I’m new to this “Mirrorless” game... I just picked up my first one a week ago. Canon EOS R5. I’m looking forward to my first event, in two weeks!
