Fantastic photo. It seems that whenever I try to photgraph a bird, it turns its head or its body. Is there a secret to getting a face or is it just patience?

Hi Mike
Everybody has a different technique. Most birders just shoot a burst of pictures (10-20) to then select the best one. I use this technique for flying birds only. When they are perched I shoot individual pictures waiting for a profile pose or looking at me, so pretty much it's all about patience.
