A pair of eastern bluebirds visiting our backyard and feeders.

This appears to be a breeding pair whose territory includes our backyard after a battle for dominance between several males in late January-February. Below is one relatively mild photo of two males fighting: we were shocked at the brutality of the battle, as they were pecking at each other's head and eyes.

Thanks. But I felt kind of guilty, like I was photographing a mugging and didn’t help. Nature can be brutal
 
I took this photo yesterday morning. I was still too far away, but this is the best so far that I've taken of a bluebird.
