Hello Archibald, the lepelaarsplassen are in Almere. Its possible to get there by train or bus from Amsterdam (20 minutes by train). To go to the l. P. You have to walk or rent a bike.
I live in Almere so it's easy for me to go there by bike.

Ah yes, I see it is very difficult to get there if you are a tourist. It is similar with other birding hotspots in Holland. Last year I managed to get to Vogelplas Starrevaart (by Voorschoten), but it wasn't easy.
