The Flying Scotsman on it's way to London. The bright sunshine and dark storm clouds in one direction and then bright blue sky in the other made these tricky. I think I should have dropped the exposure a bit more to get more steam detail too.

I’m a train driver on the ECML every little boys dream 👍 here’s a shot of said engine of mine on the Nymr not R5 tho was taken on my 5ds

For me it’s not the exposure I’d have picked a location with no clutter and those horrible Pway fences.

I expect you have a few suggestions for better locations, given your job? Only knew it was coming through 45 mins beforehand so went for what was available to me. Awkward light to handle too with the sun being very bright under the heavy storm clouds and almost right in front of me.

The wooden fence in your picture does look much nicer than the metal one in mine .
