Got a deal on a Canon R that needs some clean up!

I follow a photographer, Trey Ratcliff who lives down in New Zealand. He posted this last year, said the found it while shooting around some tide pools along the coast. Still on a tripod but underwater so maybe a rogue wave took it out of someone's reach. I saved the images and used them in a workshop I did on how to clean and maintain one's camera gear.

I wonder what was the story behind that camera. Why the owner left it there?

I keep meditating about this photo, do you think that the owner is dead? If that happened to me I would "terminate" my life right there!
