Found a wonderful spot Saturday morning. Two trees next to a pond provided a shade canopy and a welcoming breeze was blowing. I was late getting there, 10ish, and the temps were rising in the sun. The shade and breeze felt soooo good that I just hung out and enjoyed the pond and the vibe. No birds though other than some swallows that never stay still and I can't get a decent inflight photo of. After an I hour, I geared up and started to hike out.

I was rewarded by two Green Herons - why did they name them that, they aren't green - flying by and landing on top of the tree that I just abandoned. I got these photos by sneaking back and climbing atop a pond-side picnic table closer to my trees. In the second photo, the Heron suddenly ruffled up his feathers and shook itself out.

Fast, sharp, and lightweight! A great lens
This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...
