We see Elk on the prairie in southern Alberta from time to time, one at a time, but it is not common to see a herd like this. Originally prairie was their native home but they now commonly live in forested areas. We were thrilled to see this group of young males and females on the move. They paused to look at us while we photographed them on a sunny January day.
