Last year I shot HS softball couple times (never shot it (or any HS sports really) before), yesterday was second time shooting baseball. Slowly getting hang of it, still need to learn better at predicting where to aim and focus. Since I wasn't born in Usa, I never played the game and it's plenty learning for me to just understand the flow of the game.

But shooting pics is always fun, especially when the pics come ok like this:

  • Canon EOS-1D X
  • EF400mm f/2.8L IS USM
  • 400.0 mm
  • ƒ/2.8
  • 1/2000 sec
  • ISO 250

Edit: Doh, didn't notice that was 1DX, not R5 as I was shooting both of them. Adding another with R5 to better suit this forum :)

Looks good @tpatana - I have just started trying to shoot HS sports myself. I’m with you on struggling to figure out where to focus.

This is my main workhorse of a lens and I love it. It's very light weight (only around 2.3 lbs) lens. I've been able to hand-hold it for an event...

    Fantastic sport camera
This camera is FANTASTIC. I'm a dog sports shooter, so very fast indoor action with a lot of obstacles to shoot in and around. This camera does a...

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
