Went to a forest nature reserve in Toyota City today looking for birds. Didn't see much, but did catch a Japanese giant flying squirrel (musasabi) taking a nap in a box way up in a tree. My shutter noise woke him (her?) up. I had it set to electronic shutter, but I guess the little guy could hear the faint, high-pitched sound.

Wow, those are awesome shots of the むささび! Don't mind me, I have been trying to learn Japanese in my old age! Haha! But seriously, the photos are amazing! This is something one would not normally have a chance to capture.

Thanks. がんばってwith your Japanese. I'd love to capture a musasabi in flight, but being nocturnal, that presents a few challenges.
