Was going to go with water, because I love me some long exposure water. But instead, in honor of the Independence Day Holiday:

Not that Walt Disney World represents Independence. But Walt was as American as apple pie, so I’m going with it.

Tripod. Bulb exposure with corded shutter release. Processed in DPP4 applying the Autumn Hues picture style from Canons Picture Style Editor software, but with sharpness cranked up to Landscape picture style levels.

With Devil's Gate to the north, Yosemite National Park to the west, and Nevada 10 miles to the east, the little town of Bridgeport, California, (population 553) sits at 6400 feet up in the eastern Sierra Mountains. The post office opened in 1864, and yesterday was the 162nd annual July 4 festival. They had an impressive fireworks show at the airport, and I positioned myself just outside the barbed wire fence with a few thousand other people. I got the best fireworks photos I've ever taken, and chose this one to post here.

During a visit to Stepstone Falls in Rhode Island, I took many photographs of the water surface reflecting the fall foliage at various shutter speeds. This is one of the slow ones increasing the abstract nature of the photograph.

Plan A: epic Golden Hour lighting, but late afternoon clouds on the horizon forced me to Plan B: Night Sky with the Milky Way.
Remember those clouds on the horizon? After a couple hours I was looking at 40% cloud cover forcing me to Plan C: Blue Hour Light Trails.

A big thank you to everyone who has taken part in this months competition. Yet again we have had some really amazing images.

In 1st place with 10 votes was @Dean Wilson with a stunning blue hour light trails shot. Not bad for his Plan C!
In 2nd place with 7 votes was @PKM-UK with their joint effort and a terrific shot of High Force Waterfalls, County Durham, England.
In 3rd place with 5 votes was @dgphoto8 with some amazing light trails shot on Storrow Drive in Boston, Massachusetts.

Of course every entry is a winner here regardless of the number of votes received! :)

Our August competition will be kicking off on Thursday. The theme this time will be reflections.
