I used to have kit insurance when I assisted my wife with her pro work ... but haven't bothered since she effectively stopped.

I am now looking at insuring an R5 and about 4 lenses, as not a small amount of money if pinched or dropped.

Is anyone using a company they are happy with in the UK ?

I used to use a company through the Eos Magazine but it is so long ago I can't remember their name and they were only small I think so don't come up on a Google search. I tried my wife's former insurer Aaduki but they are silly dear so I guess aiming more for pro's as they were cheaper than others when she needed public liability insurance as well as kit.

I had a quote from Eversure for about £180 theft and damage cover ... Aaduki were just under £400.

Anyone got any views ? ... apart from being careful !

I’m not sure of any but would like to know if any recommendations too

My homeowners is more than sufficient. You might have coverage already. If not they might be able to add anything you like. Most of these specialist insurance companies are just marketing and anything they can do, the larger general insurers can do as well. Caveat as always is your location.

I've got my R6 as a specific item on my household & contents policy. All other bits are covered up to £2000 anyway, and they charged an extra £50 for the camera. I thought that was a bit pricey but it does give me peace of mind. It might pay to give your contents insures a ring to see what they would charge.
