On a walk this evening, the sun was setting over the ridge line a quarter mile away. I was birding with the 100-500L and a 2x extender. But, I could see some trees on the distant ridge that looked like good opportunities. As I was considering, another hiker passed by and asked what I take photos of with a camera/lens like that. I said mostly birds, but I think tonight it's going to be a landscape. So, I sat in the field and tried my luck.
I took photos of trees along the distant ridge line that caught my eye. And I moved to get the setting sun behind my favored trees. Shot in manual and edited in Lightroom CC to knock down the highlights at the top of the frame.
