de Havilland DH88 Comet - 1930s racing aircraft which was built specifically for the 1934 England to Australia air race. This particular aircraft won therace in just over 70 hours.

Yes - need relatively slow SS to avoid “frozen” propellers - to be honest many shots get thrown away because they have motion blur - more than keepers. thanks for the kind words.
 
Those pictures are so beautiful! I envy you a lot! I do not have those around me anywhere.
 
Thank you. The museum where these planes are based is only about an half hour’s drive away.
