Yes they said the R6II in November and said the R7II not until 2026. Thanks. I will be interested but I won't jump on it right away.
 
I’m hoping they fix a lot of the issues with the original R7. If the stars all alignand it fixes those issues, I might have to get one but probably not until it’s been out for a while. I’d like to have a good crop sensor as a second body, especially for wildlife and birds in flight

I didn't mind the size and I liked the position the QC dial. Comfy for the thumb. I did miss the QC2 dial which I normally use for aperture. I had map it to lens ring which I don't like but I didn't change aperture often with that cam.

On my R6II (and other bodies) I assigned the AF point selection for AF. Since you can't do that one the R7 I had to be creative to try match the R6II and R7 configurations as much as possible for my shooting style. That actually opened up some new mapping ideas that really worked out well for me.

I never liked the jack hammer shutter on the R7. The first time I heard it I thought something was broken.

I sold the R7 and I'l see when the new one comes out. Gonna give the R6III a good ride first.
