Before heading out to Astoria, Oregon I wanted to capture a photo of the Astoria-Megler bridge from something other than your typical ground level tourist photo and that is where Google Maps | Street View came in handy. I also wanted a Night shot for light trails.

Once I isolated the area

It was time to find and unobstructed view of the bridge (HINT: not easy!)

Location found and photo captured.

And the day before I captured this from the rooftop deck of our Hotel. Actually, I lucked out because I as in the room reading a book. I glanced out the window and saw the epic lighting reflecting on the building across the street. I grabbed the camera bag and this was my first shot.

I was in Astoria last year, and also looked for a location overlooking that bridge. Good work finding one, and those are some fantastic photographs.

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
