Canon to release major firmware update for the Canon EOS R5

We reported in late November that we could see an EOS R5 Mark II in 2023, but that timeline has been debunked for the most part. We expect to see the next EOS R

How about a sound (quiet) for the electronic shutter. Or a burst limiter so I don't end up with 100 photos of one bird. On my OM-1, you can limit the burst speed and number of shots per button push.

I wonder if they may migrate some features currently in the R3 (like vehicle tracking, eye-controlled auto-focus, etc.) to the R5.

The guys who said there will be an R5 Mark II now say this firmware’s coming… although an accidentally released web page from Canon Europe appears to confirm that an update is coming.

Time marches on. We saw the 1.8 firmware and we all hope we more than that. The rumor says the next firmware for the R5 is version 2.0 which makes me more excited. 1.8 upgraded to 2.0 should normally be saved for truly major feature additions.
