Canon R5 Must Have Accessories for the R5

As a new R5 owner, what would you say are the must have accessories to go with it? TIA.

Nah my 1DX mk3 works just fine and I have the best of both worlds.

When I purchased the R5, these accessories I immediately purchased:
- GPS GP-E2
- Peak Design Cuff
- Battery Grip
- 3 Batteries (2 in the battery grip & 2 as backup)
I often go to new places for I am without any accessible power sources, so I prefer having ample battery life, geotagging for photos, and peace of mind for a heavy rig that secured to my wrist.

Thanks for the reply, I’ve no need for the GPS module although I do have another camera with it built in. I bought the grip and an extra battery but I could buy some more although the camera will take earlier LP-E6 batteries. The gear I tend to carry is considerably heavier and the cuff wouldn’t be used. Although I do love the Peak Design stuff as they do some great gear. I have some of their Slide straps and use them on some of my bigger lenses.

That’s what I did!

Bought my original R back in 2018 thinking it would be a second body to go with my 5D4. Didn’t touch the 5D4 for 6 weeks and then sold it a few weeks later.

My wife OK’d a second body after a trip to Hawaii after watching me continuously swapping lenses. So picked up a second R in Dec of 2019.

Sold the first R when I got the R5, thinking I would keep the other R as my second body - NOPE! After having the R5 for a month, decided that the R5/R6 would be a better duo due to similarity of controls/features.

Nah, I prefer my 1DX Mk3 and that's not going anywhere.

I intend to get the battery grip. the GPS is interesting, but having never had one I do not "miss" it . My other cameras are an M5 (soon to be replaced with an M50 mkII (really portable and used for streaming) , and my recently acquired Canon A1 (to replace a very tired AE-1 program) . This was from a local shop that specializes in film photography. I occasionally shoot film just to slow me down and think about what I am doing.

The battery grip and some extra batteries, some decent sized cards and I got a Peak Design Slider Strap which I found very comfortable to carry the gear. Apart from that I've got a few Rf lenses to go with it, the Rf 24-105 f4 L is probably the sharpest lens I've had in many years.

RF15-35F2.8, RF 28-70F2, RF 70-200F2.8, RF 100-500, Rf 400F2.8, Rf600 F4 and RF 1.4, 2X Ya that looks about right.

I purchased a RF600mm and will need a tripod foot, would also like to get I think they are called L plate

An L plate for me is essential gear, as well as the extra batteries you've already bought. I'm assuming you've got a CFexpress card reader and CFexpress cards.
