Following on from wrist thread

So did kickstarter way back when for Coman Monopods. Finally arrived was worrying I got scammed.
Hopefully so much easier for horse shows, at show on sunday a pro asked how the heck do you hold camera all day said dunno farmer strength I guess plus sore wrist tis a struggle.
Anyway let ya know how I get on.
A tester "leaked" to me eh you should get one of these whilst there cheap was 10 moths ago I think.
Hassled them via email with bank statement screen shots etc finally got it latest version.
Doubt I will ever do a kickstarter thing again

I’ve heard too many horror stories, so I just ignore anything that says “Kickstarter”. Even if they’re not out-and-out scammers, too often they are a dumpster fire of issues while they get their -stuff- together - and sometimes they don’t.

yup hindsight wont do again but turned up. Real good discount.

Just curious, why wouldn't you do it again?
meant kickstarter not tripod.
Not sure if it was going to arrive, had to chase them up for shipping and show proof of pledge for kickstart.
Unsure if you got version one or two.
Said they were based in Taiwan but actually Chinese

But hey ive got it

Any of you guys been involved in kickstart?? Other than motorcycles?

Motorcycles was the only experience that I had with kickstart. I have considered doing a deal like you did, but I was worried about the exact things that you listed, except for the location of their base. Plus, I have always figured that if someone had a product to offer and had to do it via a kickstart, then maybe they aren't ready to produce and sell publicly. In other words, they ain't ready for me to be their customer yet.

Holy hell, for that price it doesn’t need to be carpet fiber - it should come with a Sherpa to lug it around for you!

think my pledge was $260

I might have thought about it this morning when I needed the tripod I didn’t feel like lugging around, (so all I had was my little tripod…)🤨

My cheap-ass Scamazon tripod has a function where you can disconnect one leg and attach it to the center column to make a redneck monopod, but I haven’t played with that yet.
