In light of this month’s Blur Challenge:
There is a long time professional bird photographer, Art Morris. For years he was a Canon contract photographer doing seminars, training, instructional tours, tv stuff. One of his styles of photos is what he calls ‘pleasing blurs,’ e.g. capturing 10000 flamingoes blasting off at a slow shutter speed. He has a video out on youtube , posted by b&h, which can be found bydoing a search “morris pleasing blurs”. It’s about 1-1/2 hours long, covers bird and flower blur shots and techniques, camera settings, composition etc.

You can go to his blog site and buy a book and/or video on the subject, but youtube is free.

Thank you for the information. I love watching the presentations and learning from others. This reminds me of some of the home decorating 'techniques' where when *I* try it, it looks like rubbish. Like tossing a beautiful knitted throw across a chair to bring color and texture into a room like I see in a magazine. When I stand back with a critical eye, it looks like something that needs to be folded and put away. LOL

So for me, I love the 'pleasing blur' photos others do, but mine still go in the bin. 😂

A good lens for what it does, with it's drawbacks
I have had this lens since it came out and it is my lightweight go to lens for walking around in the city and using my infrared-converted camera...
