I take it the Tern took umbrage on your proximity to it? It certainly let you know :D

Great shots, would love to get somewhere near Puffins.
 
There's a Tern colony near the landing spot so you have to run the gauntlet when you get off the boat. In previous visits I've been known to put the camera in burst mode and manual focus and hold it on my head. Out of maybe 300 shots you inevitably get a couple of keepers. These birds will actually peck your head.
 
Cracking shots John! Would love to see the puffins this year, just not sure if I'm going to find the time to make the trip to Skomer though.
