So I was covering the Minnesota Twins vs Pittsburgh Pirates game last night for Getty Images and took an off the bat (96mph fastball) foul ball to the hand/grip/camera/lens on the right side. Camera and lens seem fine, hand, not so much. Smashed my pinky finger by the knuckle closest to my palm. Nothing broken but some serious bruising. This is just a testament to the durability of this equipment. Attached is the last photo of the sequence before I was hit.

Damn! I'm sure we all appreciate your desire to fully test your gear, but, well, next time dial it back a little.

;-)

So it couldn’t track the ball?

😁. I kid! I kid! Glad you’re okay!

Might need to pick up a pair of tactical, impact-resistant gloves for next time.
