R5 Does Drag Boats Races

Took the R5 out with the 100-400 ii to shoot some Arizona Drag Boat Racing this last weekend. Was actually out for Test and Tune day only. Having come from a 1Dx I was very happy with how the camera performed. I did rattle off a blast of 60+ images with the electronic shutter for fun, was amazed in that nearly every shot was in focus.

Thanks, was really happy with the R5, still have a lot to learn about mirrorless. I think part of me will always miss the feeling of shooting with the 1Dx though.

Great shots! Drag boats are the only “racing” I have yet to cover.

In two weeks. I will finally be testing mine out at a drag racing event. I shoot NHRA Events. I will be covering the Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway. Can’t wait to see how this Mirrorless stands up to the 11,000 hp, Top Fuel cars screaming by me!
