Had a few of these around the garden all Summer.

Interesting - must be of the Tetraopes genus like the milkweed beetles we have around here.
 
My Seek app and I are pretty sure it's T. femoratus.
OK, sounds good. It seems that milkweed species vary across the continent, and so do the bugs that feed on them. Your specimen has different antennas compared to the ones around here.

Yeah, when I was looking these up I found 14 species in the genus listed on Bugguide.net. My wife wanted to add some milkweed to the garden to help out the Monarchs and I was surprised at the variety of visitors.

Oh, good that your milkweed got some customers. We also grow milkweed, but nobody has come to feed on them.
