does the Rf 24-105 f4 ever go on sale? I sold my tamron 24-70 2.8 because I’ve grown to hate adapters. I want the 24-105 for the versatility but I think 1300 is a bit steep

A quick check has shown me that all camera stores from which I have bought RF lenses have the RF 24–105 f/4 in stock and for sale at between 85% and 90% of its recommended retail price.

I’ve seen the 24-70 2.8 on sale for a great price right now but not the 105 f4.

The RF 24-70/2.8 was on refurb for $1299 but it sold out within the first day. Once it's back in stock I don't think it will be $1299 any more. The EF version is still on refurb for $1199 I think (or it was last night).

I don't mind the adapter. The EF lenses can be a giant cost savings. The only issue with some of them is not being able to use the high speed shooting modes. I have a 16-35 F2.8 L II USM on my R6 Mk2 everyday and I like the results I get with it. I do prefer native RF glass, but the adapter and EF lenses are definitely a giant cost savings.

I do find my RF 50 F1.8, RF 85 F2, and RF 70-200 F4 L USM render images differently than the EF lens does. They seem warmer, more contrasty to me. Could just be me.

Also many of the EF lenses do not [officially] support Panning Assist. I haven't checked to see if some of the unlisted ones actually do, as was the case with H+ burst speeds.
