My wife Patty and I headed to Martin Dies Jr. State Park near Woodville, Texas last week. We spent two days hiking and photographing this beautiful place. The lake is shallow and rimmed by Cypress trees as well as many other species. Many of them are very old and tower over the park creating shadows giving the place a primeval feel which is further magnified by the presence of a large population of Alligators. This is the first time since I bought the R5 that I attached my 24-70mm lens using the adaptor and shooting some landscapes. I also did a little macro work with some native flowers and used the 100mm macro lens for some landscape shots. I found the challenge of landscape photography with the macro lens a pleasurable experience as it restricted the area in the frame and forced me to pay attention to the subject and limit the extraneous other fluff.

Great set of pictures but I really like number 3 with the reflection and side light. That looks like a a beautiful place.

Thank you for checking them out, much appreciated. #3 is one of my favorites as well, and yes I agree with you, it is a beautiful place to visit and photograph.
