On Sunday, September 17, the rising sun would be directly between the east and westbound bridges of the causeway. What I couldn’t foresee was Hurricane Lee and all the clouds and haze that storm would bring to the US east coast. Back to the planner for the next opportunity and hope for clear skies.

Actually, I like the clouds and haze. You could always selectively enhance the sky "a touch' without changing the overall capture. But nothing wrong with keeping it as you have it.
 
Agree with Dean, i think this is a terrific shot.
