I got to go to the Spirit of St. Louis Airshow a couple of weeks ago. This was my second time getting to shoot photograph the Blue Angels. Also got to see the F22 in flight, the Canadian Snowbirds, and a P38 Lighting. Skip Stewart was there with his bi plane, but my shutter speeds were too slow to get anything in focus.
The sky was pretty much overcast the whole day. We had a few brief sprinkles but luckily nothing too heavy. Glad that my R6 mkII and mkIII and the RF L lenses I was using are weather proof. I had to push the contrast and dehaze pretty hard to get any sort of color and definition in the sky to get anything other than just a flat grey background. All the aerial photos were with my R6 mkIII and RF 100-500. I had my R6 mkII with the RF24-70 for the static displays.
