The Short and Long of It

Here are a couple photos from my trip where I limited myself to vintage Manual Lenses on my R5.

The first is with the FD 800mm f/5.6 SSC 1/1000 sec, f/8 and ISO 125. I discovered how difficult it is to photograph birds in flight... focusing under harsh lighting was almost impossible.

On the upside, the BIF photo does have a geniune vintage look.

Manual focus for BIF? With f/5.6? That's fairly ballsy. I might have (OK, probably would have) cheated a bit by stopping down to F/11 or more.

Lastly, that gull needs to get with the program. It's going in the wrong direction!

Pelicans and gulls are not particularly known for a speedy flight.

Try swallows, martins, swifts.

You are correct. My typo... f/5.6 lens shot at f/8. Thank you for keeping me honest.
